In a bowl, dissolve the yeast and 1 tablespoon of sugar in warm milk. Let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy. Add flour, salt, melted butter, egg, and the remaining sugar. Knead the dough until smooth. Let it rise until doubled in size.

On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thickness. Cut out donuts and let them rise again. Fry the donuts in 375°F (190°C) oil until golden brown, then drain on paper towels.

Beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Gently fold in the strawberry jam.

Once the donuts are cooled, make a hole in the side of each. Pipe in the strawberry cheesecake filling.
