One Pot Texas Hash Dish (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 ½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
02 - 2 ½ tsp chili powder
03 - 1 onion, chopped
04 - ½ cup uncooked long grain white rice
05 - ½ tsp ground mustard
06 - 1 cup green bell pepper, chopped
07 - ¼ tsp black pepper
08 - 2 tbsp tomato paste
09 - 1 lb ground beef
10 - 1 cup water
11 - 1 tbsp minced garlic
12 - 14.5 oz diced tomatoes, undrained
13 - 2 tsp salt
14 - 2 tbsp olive oil
15 - Shredded cheddar cheese, for garnish

# Instructions:

01 - Add the olive oil to a skillet over medium-high heat on the stove.
02 - Place the ground beef, onion, and green bell pepper in the skillet. Saute until the meat is browned and vegetables are softened. Drain the excess grease.
03 - Reduce the heat to medium, and stir in minced garlic, chili powder, ground mustard, salt, and black pepper. Saute for 1 minute.
04 - Mix in the tomato paste and uncooked rice. Saute for 3-4 minutes.
05 - Pour in the water, diced tomatoes, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine, cover the skillet, and simmer for 20 minutes.
06 - Remove the lid, stir well, and serve hot.
