Loaded Cheese Meatloaf (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Meatloaf Base

01 - ½ teaspoon black pepper
02 - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
03 - 1 lb ground beef
04 - 1 large egg
05 - ½ cup breadcrumbs
06 - ¼ cup finely chopped onion
07 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
08 - ¼ cup milk
09 - 1 teaspoon salt
10 - ½ cup ketchup, split into two portions

→ Topping

11 - 4 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
12 - 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
13 - 2 cups pre-made mashed potatoes
14 - 2 tablespoons chopped green onions or chives (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to 375°F (190°C). Coat a 9x9 dish lightly with grease.
02 - Stir together the beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, onion, garlic powder, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and half of the ketchup until blended well.
03 - Place the meat mix into the dish, pressing it down evenly. Spread the rest of the ketchup over it and bake for 20–25 minutes until cooked through.
04 - Lay mashed potatoes over the meatloaf. Sprinkle the cheddar cheese and bacon crumbs on top.
05 - Pop it back in the oven for another 10–15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
06 - Add a sprinkle of chives or green onions if you're using them. Let it cool down a bit before digging in.
