Get everything ready: peanut butter, chocolate chips, cereal, butter, and vanilla extract.

Warm the chocolate chips and peanut butter in the microwave. Do this in bursts of 30 seconds, stirring each time, until it’s silky smooth.

Add the melted butter and vanilla into the warm chocolate-peanut blend. Stir thoroughly.

Pour the chocolatey mixture over the puffed rice and lightly stir or fold until coated well.

Spread the mixture flat on a baking sheet and leave it alone to set before slicing.

Pop the squares in a plastic bag with powdered sugar and give it a little shaky shake, or just sprinkle sugar on top if you’d rather.
