Blackberry Bars Crumble (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Crust

01 - ¾ cup brown sugar
02 - ½ cup granulated sugar
03 - 3 cups all-purpose flour
04 - 1 tsp almond extract
05 - ½ tsp cinnamon
06 - 1 tsp baking powder
07 - 1 cup melted unsalted butter
08 - 2 large eggs

→ Filling

09 - 1½ Tbsp cornstarch
10 - 4 cups of blackberries (you can use fresh or frozen)
11 - 1 Tbsp lemon juice
12 - ¼ cup granulated sugar

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to 375°F. Use nonstick spray on a 9"x13" pan and cover the bottom with parchment paper.
02 - Stir together melted butter, flour, cinnamon, baking powder, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Crack in the eggs and add almond extract, then mix well.
03 - Keep 1½ cups of the mixture for later. Press the rest firmly into the prepared pan.
04 - Mix sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice in a bowl. Then gently fold in blackberries. Spread this evenly on top of the base.
05 - Crumble the reserved dough over the blackberry layer. Bake it for 40-45 minutes, until it's a nice golden color. Let it cool down completely before cutting.

# Notes:

01 - Frozen blackberries work just as well as fresh ones
02 - Having larger chunks in the topping gives it great texture
