Strawberry Danish (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 4 cups sliced strawberries.
02 - 1 tablespoon cornstarch.
03 - 1 tablespoon sugar.
04 - 8 ounces cream cheese, softened.
05 - 1/2 cup powdered sugar.
06 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
07 - 2 sheets puff pastry.
08 - 1 egg mixed with 1 teaspoon water.
09 - Powdered sugar, vanilla and milk for glaze.
10 - 1/4 cup strawberry jam (optional).

# Instructions:

01 - Thaw pastry 30-45 minutes. Heat oven to 400°F. Mix berries with sugar and cornstarch, let sit 15 minutes.
02 - Beat cream cheese until smooth, then mix in powdered sugar and vanilla.
03 - Cut each pastry sheet into 6 rectangles. Score borders without cutting through.
04 - Spread cream cheese in centers and top with berries. Brush edges with egg wash and sprinkle with sugar.
05 - Chill 15 minutes if dough is warm. Bake 20-25 minutes until golden.
06 - Cool 5 minutes then top with warm jam or vanilla glaze.
