Grab a cookie sheet and cover it with wax or parchment paper.

Mix peanut butter, butter, and powdered sugar in a big bowl until creamy. Fold in the cereal gently till it's all blended.

Roll into small balls, put them onto the prepared cookie sheet, and place in the fridge for at least half an hour to chill.

In a microwave-safe bowl, toss in the chocolate chips and shortening. Heat for 1 minute, stir, then microwave in 20-30 second bursts, stirring each time, until smooth and lump-free.
