Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) to warm up. Coat a 9x13-inch dish lightly with grease.

In a big skillet, brown the ground beef along with the onions until the meat’s cooked through and the onions soften. Drain the fat, then flavor it with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

Combine tomato sauce, sour cream, and cream of mushroom soup into the cooked meat mixture. Stir it all up until it’s mixed well and heated.

Place half of the pasta into the prepared dish. Layer on top half of the meat mixture and sprinkle with half the cheddar cheese. Repeat the same for a second layer: pasta, meat mixture, and cheddar cheese.

Evenly spread the mozzarella cheese across the topmost layer.

Cover the dish using foil and let it bake for 20 minutes. After that, take the foil off and bake it for 10 more minutes until the cheese melts and gets bubbly.
