Cook the bacon until crispy, then set it aside to cool. Reserve the bacon grease for later use.

Place the reserved bacon grease in a deep-sided pot or skillet, and cook the chopped onion over medium heat until softened.

Add the minced garlic to the pot and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Reduce the heat to medium-low, add the chopped cabbage to the pot, and stir. Cover the pot and let the cabbage simmer until softened.

Stir in the onion powder, garlic powder, and salt and pepper to taste. Sauté for another 2-3 minutes.

Add the crumbled bacon on top of the cooked cabbage mixture and serve warm.
