Turn your oven on to 350°F (175°C) and get those baking sheets ready with some parchment paper.

Mix together the butter, the white sugar, and the brown sugar in a big bowl until it’s nice and fluffy.

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing them in well. Then pour in the vanilla and stir it all together.

In a different bowl, whisk the flour, salt, and baking soda together. Slowly add it to the butter mixture, stirring as you go.

Carefully mix in the chopped cherries and chocolate chips until they’re spread throughout the dough.

Scoop out balls of dough and space them out on the baking sheets you prepared earlier.

Pop the trays into your preheated oven for around 10 to 12 minutes until the edges just start to turn golden.

Let them sit on the baking trays for a bit before moving them over to cooling racks to finish cooling completely.
