Broccoli Cauliflower Cheese Sausage (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1.5 pounds sausage, sliced and quartered
02 - 0.5 pound broccoli, cut into florets
03 - 1.5 pounds cauliflower, cut into florets
04 - 1 cup heavy cream
05 - 1 cup water
06 - 2 tablespoons butter
07 - 1 cup chicken bone broth
08 - 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
09 - 5 slices no-sugar bacon, cooked until crisp and chopped

→ Seasonings

10 - 0.25 teaspoon mustard seed
11 - 0.25 teaspoon marjoram
12 - 0.25 teaspoon thyme
13 - 0.25 teaspoon garlic powder
14 - 0.25 teaspoon onion powder
15 - Salt and ground black pepper to taste
16 - Olive oil, as needed

# Instructions:

01 - In a small container, mix onion powder, garlic powder, mustard seed, marjoram, and thyme.
02 - In a saucepan, pour chicken broth then cover and bring to a boil. Add cauliflower and broccoli. Season with a dash of salt and ground black pepper. Simmer for 4 to 5 minutes. Set aside.
03 - In a large skillet with olive oil, brown sausages. Set aside.
04 - In the same saucepan on low heat, pour cream and water. Add butter and stir until butter is melted. Add cheese and stir slowly until melted.
05 - Add cooked sausages and season with half of the mixed spices and herbs. Toss in cooked broccoli, cauliflower, and broth. Add the remaining mixed spices and herbs. Season with salt and ground black pepper to taste. Combine well.
06 - Cover and simmer for 5 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally.
07 - Transfer to a serving bowl and top with bacon. Serve and enjoy immediately.
