Cover an 8x8 pan with parchment paper to make cleanup easy.

In a heavy pot, melt the chips, milk, butter, salt, and vanilla over a gentle heat. Stir constantly for about 5-7 minutes until it turns silky. Don’t crank up the heat or it’ll scorch.

Once off the stove, stir in black dye until everything looks super dark.

Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared pan. Throw on sprinkles if you like.

Let it rest and fully cool down, then wrap up and chill in your fridge for at least 8 hours or overnight.

Using the parchment, lift it out of the pan. Slice into small 1-inch squares.
