Banana Cake Buttercream (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 large cup plus another half of flour.
02 - A pinch under a teaspoon of baking soda.
03 - A quarter teaspoon of baking powder.
04 - About 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
05 - A dash of cinnamon—about 1/4 teaspoon.
06 - 1/8 teaspoon of nutmeg for a mild spicy kick.
07 - 1 cup plain white sugar.
08 - 1/4 cup avocado or vegetable oil (whichever you've got).
09 - 1/4 cup unflavored applesauce for moisture.
10 - 2 whole eggs.
11 - Two teaspoons of vanilla for that sweet aroma.
12 - 2 bananas, mashed smooth.
13 - 1/4 cup of butter.
14 - A small splash of vanilla—half a teaspoon.
15 - 1 cup powdered sugar (for frosting).
16 - 1 tablespoon rich heavy cream.
17 - 1/4 cup of optional walnut bits for crunch.

# Instructions:

01 - Turn on your oven to 325° F. Spray an 8x8 pan generously with nonstick spray, then set aside out of the way.
02 - In a big bowl, toss together flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir until well blended. Put it aside.
03 - Grab another bowl and start mixing sugar, oil, and applesauce using a hand or stand mixer. Add your eggs, vanilla, and bananas, then mix gently until just combined.
04 - Gradually mix the dry stuff into the wet, stirring just enough until blended. Pour into your prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick; it should come out clean. Let it cool entirely.
05 - Melt butter in a small pot over medium heat. Once melted, take it off the heat quickly and transfer it into a different dish. Let it cool down fully.
06 - In a small bowl, whip together the cooled melted butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and heavy cream until smooth and fluffy. Use a hand or stand mixer for this.
07 - Spread that frosting over your completely cooled cake. Top with walnut pieces if you like. Slice into squares and dig in!

# Notes:

01 - Keep in an airtight container until you're ready to eat it.
