Authentic Beef and Broccoli Stirfry (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Beef Stir Fry

01 - 1 – 1.2 lb Beef Flank Steak or steak tip, thinly sliced
02 - 1/4 cup cooking oil, divided for stir-frying
03 - 1/2 head of broccoli (approximately 1 heaping cup)
04 - 1 clove garlic, minced
05 - 2 – 3 tbsp coconut aminos
06 - 1/2 tsp baking soda
07 - 1 tbsp arrowroot flour
08 - 1/3 cup carrot slices (optional)
09 - 1/4 cup red bell pepper slices (optional)

→ Stir Fry Sauce

10 - 1/3 cup coconut aminos
11 - 1/4 cup water or beef stock
12 - 1 tbsp rice vinegar
13 - 2 tsp sesame oil
14 - 1/2 tbsp arrowroot flour

# Instructions:

01 - Cut the flank beef steak into medium/thin strips, then marinate with coconut aminos, baking soda, and arrowroot flour. Allow it to marinate for at least 30 minutes.
02 - In a small bowl, mix together all the ingredients for the stir fry sauce and set aside.
03 - Heat 2 – 3 tablespoons of neutral oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 20 – 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
04 - Add broccoli and carrots to the skillet and stir continuously, sautéing for 3 – 4 minutes until slightly tender. Add bell pepper slices (optional) and cook for an additional minute.
05 - Push the vegetables to the side and add 1 – 2 tablespoons of oil to the center of the skillet. Place the beef slices in and sear both sides until golden brown and cooked to your preferred doneness.
06 - Lower the heat and gently stir in the prepared sauce until it becomes sticky and thoroughly coats the beef and vegetables.
07 - Serve the stir fry over a bed of rice and garnish with sesame seeds or chopped green onions if desired.

# Notes:

01 - Additional salt can be added to the marinade, but consider the saltiness of the coconut aminos.
02 - Marinate the beef in the fridge earlier in the day for a more flavorful dish.
03 - The baking soda and arrowroot flour help tenderize the beef and create a crispy coating.
